Where we started
To millions of customers, Burger King paints a mouthwatering picture. Add new restaurants opening left, right and centre. Friendly teams. Awesome benefits. Opportunities to fast track your career. An ambition to be an Employer of Choice by 2024. And it’s no surprise that people should feel the same about working there, too.
However, recruiting in an industry with a typically transient workforce isn’t easy.
So, naturally, they turned to us to help them make sure their people audiences and internal people teams all got a taste of the good stuff, too. Just like their customers do.
What we did
No-one ever orders food without first looking at the menu. And no-one should ever create an employer brand without first digging into what really makes a business tick. Our insight told us that Burger King’s offer was simple: you can make whopping great opportunities into your own story here.
Solving Burger King’s challenges meant going all out, focusing on individuality, and really pushing boundaries. And that’s what inspired the big idea behind their new employer brand: You can keep it real at Burger King.
The tone of voice we developed reflected the honest, authentic, and open way that people talk. Our visuals capture the bold and colourful personalities of Burger King people. Burger King’s employer brand isn’t a million miles away from its consumer brand. But, just like their people, it has a life all of its own.
What we achieved
We activated the employer brand with an updated careers website, refreshed social profiles, a hero video, restaurant toolkits, and more. And we followed this with a comprehensive brand playbook and a fun, day-long session to help the people team get under the skin of their new brand.
26k people have already visited the website and 32.9k video views within just a month of launch. The people team are no longer facing that Double XXL Whopper sized challenge. Customers are discovering that careers at Burger King are just as mouthwatering as the burgers.
Now that’s what we call keeping it real.
