Who are Chatter?

At Chatter, we’re all about employer branding. That means guiding our clients towards what their employer brand looks like - and sounds like. It’s about helping them capture that brand in all of their content - whether that’s creating job ads that tell a compelling story of why someone should work there, or helping them inspire their people to be their best.

But at the heart of things, we’re a creative advertising agency. That’s creative with a capital C. Because everything we do has that flair/extra zest/flourish of creativity. No matter what team you’re part of.

What we do

From start to finish, we work in partnership with clients to transform their employer brand. So, in many ways, we’re so much more than an advertising agency.

Now, we don’t like to name-drop. But we work with some pretty big clients. And we can share a few with you, like… O2, Morrisons, Five Guys ... and many more.

It’s always exciting to work with a new client, whether they’re a big name or not. We’re really proud of the great work we’ve done for all of them. And we’ve won more than our fair share of awards, too -- 6 wins, and 21 shortlists in 2021/2022 alone!

What it means to work here

Helping our clients tell a compelling story to candidates means we have to practice what we preach. So we’re always doing everything we can to make Chatter a great place to work.

And we’re doing a good job (if we say so ourselves!)

Being part of the Chatter teams means you can work flexibly; where you work and how you work. Most of us work from home a lot of the time, but we have a swanky canal-side office in an ex-mill building in Leeds that’s available for anyone who prefers an office, too. And we all try to pop in from time to time, and make ourselves available for the odd client meeting, catch-ups, and monthly team get-togethers. Oh, and don’t forget the drinks - we are an ad agency after all.

What we offer

To begin with, you’ll find a vibrant team of people who are always happy to welcome new team members and explain our own Chatter lingo! There’s a lot to learn, so we make sure we give every new starter their own Chatter glossary!

So what else do we do to make working here great?

All our team members get their own Apple MacBook for work. Don’t worry Windows & Android users, we’ll show you the ropes! We offer private medical insurance via Vitality Health, and are a Real Living Wage employer, with a great bonus scheme that can sometimes stretch further as our targets do. And we’re also focused on helping our people grow, so we invest in a training budget to help you reach your full potential when it comes to your own personal development.

Our Teams

We're a small (but growing) agency, and we fall into the following business areas:

Client Services

We love clients. We really do. All shapes, sizes, challenges, and opportunities. The client services team is the face of the agency - their Account Directors, Account Managers, Media Specialists, and Account Execs work in partnership with our clients to help them attract, recruit and retain talent.

Client Service turns their hand to lots of interesting and complex challenges - from large-scale talent attraction campaigns (eg posters, print/digital adverts), EVP (Employee Value Proposition - how culture, reward, and benefits make a job compelling), experienced hire and early careers/graduate campaigns, through to social media planning, content generation, and activation.

They work closely with the rest of the teams (who bring a boat load of experience, skill, creativity, and energy to the table) to get stuff done. They work hard to THINK through the challenges our clients face, focus our efforts to CREATE innovative solutions, and, well, they DO a lot of doing too.

Creative

Our Creative Team look after the agency’s creative output. That’s everything from ideas to words to finished artwork. They’re here to make sure every client’s employer brand shines, both in print and digtal. 

The kind of roles you’ll find in this team are Creative Directors, Designers, Copywriters, Art Directors and Creative Artworkers. And they’re committed to staying at the top of their game so they deliver work with real wow.

Digital

The Digital Team’s bread and butter is creating award-winning careers websites for our clients. But their everyday is flexible too, and they often spend time building innovative solutions to our clients’ needs, too. Innovation is their middle name.

That could be a chatbot to help people create CVs, a tool for assessing the readability of job descriptions, an app to help explore career progression opportunities or a website with simple games to educate school children.

You’ll find Developers ( both "Front-end" and "Back-end" ) in this small team, and it’s a brilliant opportunity to put your development skills, seo, and server administration skills to work.

Project Management

Our tight-knit Project Management team works closely with all of our internal teams to create project plans, set out clear milestones, and make sure the right people across the agency and from our clients are involved at the right time.

There's a lot of multitasking and attention-to-detail involved to coordinate loads of moving parts. As a team, they always try to know what to prioritise and who to keep informed of progress and updates.

As a communications business, it's also all about building and nurturing relationships inside and outside of the agency. All to make sure everything happens when it’s supposed to happen, and that our clients are continually wowed by our work.

You’ll find a strong, fun group of people working at Chatter. And together we thrive on bringing employer brands to life.  But the focus is really on that fun part. The team never misses a chance to get together in between the hard work we do. It might sound cliched, but we take that work hard, play hard thing thing seriously. Our office is (super) dog friendly! Many of the team have dogs, so our four-legged friends often make an appearance in the office or on screen. But we won’t say no to cat, guinea-pig or gerbil people too. We’re inclusive!
