The South West Providers Collaborative (SWPC) is a group of NHS organisations, independent sector providers, and a Community Interest Company. Together, they pool their specialist knowledge and resources to improve mental health support available to people living across the South West. 

They needed us to build one overarching careers website, with one consistent and cohesive message, one frictionless candidate journey, and one way for people to search for roles across a number of organisations, rather than having to visit each organisation separately. 

When you’re dealing with multiple organisations, each with their own careers websites, a variety of different applicant tracking systems (ATS), inconsistent job titles, and vague role categorisation all thrown into the mix, you quickly realise that it’s the very opposite of ‘straightforward’.

We created a site that pulled jobs from multiple, and very different, ATS systems some of which needed scraping. With inconsistent job titles, locations and role category across the ATS’. And the need to categorise b y lifestyle offers (coastal, rural, city), we had to write ‘handlers’ for each ATS that knew how to speak to its API (or how to crawl and scrape its sites) to extract full details for each role.
