Where we started

While we know the benefits stand out when it comes to having  a dedicated careers site for your business - any website can be a significant investment. So every now and then, for whatever reason, we understand that a bespoke solution is required to help meet a number of specific business objectives…

The brief started as a large recruitment campaign as part of TalkTalk’s relocation from London to Salford, Manchester. With the north of England home to 400k tech workers and advertised tech roles at an all time high, it was critical to position TalkTalk as an employer of choice and develop a seamless candidate experience to recruit the very best talent. There was just one problem - the website.

With restricted CMS functionality and accessibility as well as poor UX, technical limitations around search, navigation and even hosting content and job vacancies, candidate attraction and application wasn’t effective. mMeanwhile, the corporate team were also experiencing similar challenges with their main website, in particular, their limited ability to communicate with a variety of key audiences since both were run from the same restrictive CMS system.

What we did

Our solution was a bespoke dual website which would worked hard for multiple audiences under the unified TalkTalk brand. One which provided flexibility of use but also convenience for updates to be made  internally at no additional external cost. We also added a host of new functionality and personalisation across the main website which also ensured the site performed as an effective careers site.

It now provides index data for Google for jobs, showcases the employer brand and hosts podcast, social and newsfeed content to help bring the working culture to life. The site also includes a private access and highly secure environment designed specifically for bond-holders and financial market stakeholders.
