This time last year, Chatter was a pipe dream. It was a utopian idea. There was no business plan, no brand and no real proposition. But there was a passion and an enthusiasm that just couldn’t be matched in our current roles.
To be fair, the conversation started a couple of years ago, but was always a bit of a laugh and I think we all brushed it off. But then, we were happy. Yes, we were still a bit frustrated working in a large corporate business, where decisions took far longer than you would like, some people delivered whilst others couldn’t be bothered. But in our own little Leeds bubble, we made it work.
In all honesty, we were all papering over the cracks, and we didn’t want to do it anymore, we wanted to develop a new business where we could capitalise on our experiences in sales, service, and technology. Where clients would buy the ‘who’ and ‘how’ as much as the ‘what’. And move away from the traditional recruitment communications businesses who (by their own admittance) were struggling to move at a pace needed to keep up with the market and changing client demands.
So we threw all our efforts into developing a business that we wanted to work for and a business that clients would want to work with. Who knows if we’ll achieve what we set out to do…but I do know that I’m looking forward to going to work on Monday morning!
