Did you know over 2 million people in the UK are visually impaired? So when they’re accessing a website, it’s likely they use a screen reader to go through it.
For someone with a disability that causes motor-control issues, a mouse or trackpad may not be an option. So when they’re using a computer, they rely on keyboards and keyboard-like devices to navigate websites.
That means it should come as no surprise that making sure your site can be fully, and easily, navigated with a keyboard is essential when building a website.
If you want to experience it for yourself (and we’d recommend it to get a real idea of how easy navigating your website is for someone using a keyboard), you can use the [tab] key to move between links and fields, and [enter] to select/open things.
So, how do we change that – and make navigating our websites a better experience for everyone? Download our free digital guide to find out how we go about it.
