Every time someone joins Chatter, we give them $50 to loan out to low-income entrepreneurs or students across 80 countries via micro-finance charity, Kiva.
Kiva's mission is 'to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty', and we're excited to play even a small part in that process.
So, with four recent new starters in quick succession, it's time to catch up on where the money's been going…

I'd like to give to Soeurb as I spent several months in Cambodia and I found them to be some of the kindest and happiest people despite what they have been through as a nation. I like that even though Soeurb is 63 she is still keen to open a second business for the sake of her family.

I chose this one because the start-up business has already helped to employ people within his community. I’m impressed by the entrepreneurial spirit shown after the loss in the family and taking the risk of changing from farming!

My reason is that I strongly believe everyone in the world has a right to a good education. We take for granted our own education system which is the only reason I can do the job I love. More importantly, this school educates young girls too; something that's still severely lacking in many parts of the world.

I've chosen this project because I already support other projects in Zimbabwe, as my Fiancée's family is from there. I was drawn to this project specifically because I love the spirit of collaboration and determination that Samantha has shown.
