This month we’ve been celebrating Jeff’s success at the RBAs, refreshing the roost to develop a new creative work space for John and Susanne, and welcoming our new starter Claudia.
What the eff, Jeff?
A week or two ago, 8 of us headed to Manchester with an armful of finalist nominations for the 2017 Recruitment Business Awards, including even more for AskJeff. The night got off to a great start when we discovered that we’d all be sharing one apartment (whose crazy idea was that?!). But after a couple of cheeky shandies, we forgot all about it, got our glad rags on (including our makeshift Sainsbury’s bag hats – it’s Manchester, of course it was raining!), and headed out.
We met up with the ace Sky Betting & Gaming team at Alberts Schloss, before legging it down the road to the Midland to catch the lovely Mel and Christie from Shop Direct for some fizz at the reception.
And after a pretty good feed (extra gravy for the Northerners) we ended up bagging the Chairman’s Award for our creative work on ‘Ask Jeff’ for Sky Betting & Gaming... back of the net! To celebrate, we were treated to some top notch entertainment from a beatboxing trio who smashed a mix of 90s club anthem and modern pop… three guesses which pair were up on their feet first.
We inevitably ended the night at the notorious Mojo’s, dancing on the tables until 4am. The word hanging just didn’t do us justice come Friday morning...
Getting our creative heads on
If you’ve followed our newsletter, you’ll know that we’ve welcomed lots of new Chatterinos into the Roost over recent months. But what you might not know is that Paul and El have had to give up their desks to work up on The Perch. So, this month, the Roost has been going through a bit of a revamp.
We’ve called time on our clunky old Chatter Box and turned it into a shiny new Creative Workspace for John and Susanne to really get their creative heads on.
But we’re not stopping there. In a few weeks, we’ll also be getting our hands on the keys for our new meeting room, so get your best bird related name suggestions in now! We’ve also heard rumours of a health and wellbeing corner for smoothies and yoga and all that kind of stuff, too – so watch this space.
Hopefully, it’ll also have a bar...
Welcome on board, Claud!
With Saskia entering full-on client service mode, we started the almost impossible task of hiring someone to fill her Marketing Assistant shoes. And guess what – we actually did it. So, enter Claudia, stage left.
After 3 years in the toon, studying an English Literature and Language degree at Newcastle University, she’s just moved back to God’s own country to learn how to adult instead.
But it’s not all bad. Now 6 weeks in, we think it’s safe to say she’s landed butter side up and has taken to Chatter life like a duck to water.
