Recruitment Media Predictions in 2025

By Adele, on 26th February 2025

We asked our Media expert, Adele Chaplin for her take on the biggest recruitment advertising & marketing trends for 2025—here’s what she predicts will shape the year ahead…

Several key trends are/will shape recruitment advertising in 2025.

Here are some of which I think will be most significant ones:

  • AI-powered recruitment tools: AI will continue to automate tasks, improve candidate matching, and reduce bias in the hiring process.
  • Skills-based hiring: Companies will increasingly prioritise skills over traditional qualifications to address talent shortages and diversify their workforce.

These trends will likely have an impact on the type of media platforms our clients are investing in. We've known the days of 'post and pray' are (hopefully) long gone, but we'll likely see things get even more tactical. From more bespoke partnerships on platforms dedicated to specific talent pools, and more 'people / culture-led' activity that puts the candidate & colleague experience first.

For example, Chatter Communications and some of our clients are already partnered with Vizzy | B Corp™. The solution this platform brings aids not only the candidate experience, but also reduces the time to hire while striving for equal opportunity for all when it comes to hiring.

‘Vizzy is changing the way we’re seeing talent – top, diverse talent that I’m sure would have been missed had we been using traditional methods’ - Lynne Cutts, Talent Acquisition Business Partner - WHSmith

As we step into 2025, employer branding continues to evolve, driven by shifting candidate expectations and workplace priorities. Here’s what I think could be the key trends shaping the recruitment landscape in the year ahead:

  • Employee advocacy: Employee testimonials and authentic stories will be crucial for attracting top talent and building brand trust.
  • Video content: Video will be used to engage candidates, showcase company culture, and conduct virtual interviews.
  • Sustainability: Companies that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability will attract environmentally conscious talent.
  • Diversity & Inclusion (D&I): D&I will remain a top priority as organisations strive for more equitable workplaces.

These trends will likely continue to evolve and shape the recruitment landscape in the coming years. How will you be adjusting your recruitment marketing strategy to solve your challenges in 2025?
